Martin L. King, Jr. Elementary School (TIER III) SIG Applied For

Tuscaloosa City School District submitted its application for SIG Funds to improve TIER III Schools, however the Application for Martin L. King Jr. Elementary School leaves much to be desired.  According to the 2009-2010 CIP "ARMT scores indicated that all grade levels required 1/2 credit for Level 2 scores to meet AMO's.  AYP was achieved in the SPED sub-group through Safe Harbor".   SIG does not consider these factors therefore MLK fails to make AYP 6 consecutive years.    The application submitted does not reflect this nor does it address the schools many weaknesses in the area of academic achievement, and t it provides incorrect information for students proficient in reading and math for 2008-2009.

SIG Grant Application Section A: IDENTIFICATION OF NEEDS is not reflective of the needs identified by the 2009-2010 CIP MLK Weaknesses Identified by 2009-2010 CIP
